This research "Sound Body: Voice that can be seen" reports on some of my experiences and discoveries in the process of investigating the work and poetics of the actor, focusing on the deaf person. We can find here an analysis of two moments: the first is about my experience as a tutor for Vocal Technique I, taught by Professor Dr. Fernando Aleixo, in the Theater Course at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU): it was a work carried out with a deaf student from the Theater Course at UFU; the second moment consists of observing two groups of deaf people (a group of young people and a group of adults), both in social interaction practices. The aim of the research was to assess how deaf people use their bodies to produce voice vibrations. Right from the start, the research made me aware of the need to delve deeper into the universe of the deaf: to understand it better by getting closer to it, before exploring it. The discoveries made during the research could possibly serve as a working tool for the actor’s preparation, for learning Libras for both deaf and hearing people and for training Libras interpreters.
