The debate around food production reflects the concern of various sectors about the need for new and greater investment in farming. Among other variables that affect this discussion, the importance of a study that considers the effects of climate change on the milk production chain, as well as food security, stands out. The purpose of this book is to assess the transmission capacity of the effects of climate change in the state of Minas Gerais on dairy farming, with a focus on the price and production of milk. The data output from the model applied made it possible to affirm that climatic variables can have a positive impact on the set of series analysed, while seasonality is more evident in certain months. The impacts found are extremely important for assessing the sector’s dependence on the effects of climate change and the extent to which this can have an impact on guaranteeing food security.
