This book is the result of a Master’s dissertation in Education that deals with the reasons and contexts for young people leaving school and returning to school, in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality. In this research, I analyzed the biographical journeys of young people, based on their experiences at different stages of their lives, as well as considering non-school contexts, everyday life and ways of life, in order to offer elements for understanding the real meaning of school in the process of individual formation. As a methodology, I adopted the biographical approach in order to grasp successive events, situations, projects and actions. The results revealed multiple paths and meanings that young people in the EJA attributed to their return to school and their interrelationships with other non-school spheres.
