Reflecting on the professional identity of educators is a point of great relevance to the questions surrounding education, since being a teacher means interacting with others and with the environment in which you are inserted, producing and transmitting knowledge in education in a dynamic way. With this in mind, the aim was to analyse the discourse and memories of eight female primary school teachers interviewed in Recife’s municipal education system, to observe the mutual influences and concomitant professional and personal constructions of the educators, identifying their social realities, the evolutionary paths of their professional identity constructions and the main aspects of their personal lives. After all, the personal self and the teaching self are constructed progressively through professional experiences and choices. In this way, this book is aimed at teachers and education scholars in general, in order to serve as a basis for their reflections, especially those about the educator’s formational process.
