Socio-economic overview of natural resources in the DR of Congo

This book takes a socio-economic look at the natural resources of the Democratic Republic of the Congo through the laudatosian approach of Pope Francis(2015), which consists of seeing natural resources not just as resources, but as a gift from God placed at the service of humanity, requiring responsible management to ensure the life of all humans in the ＂common home＂ that is the earth. It takes a close look at the social, economic and environmental dynamics surrounding the exploitation and management of natural resources, with a view to understanding the challenges facing the Democratic Republic of Congo on the one hand. On the other hand, it shows the opportunities that these natural resources can offer for sustainable and equitable development in the DR Congo, through the formulation of more responsible, effective and inclusive management policies and strategies to reverse the natural resource curse that has plagued the country for several decades.
