The use of non-timber forest products (NTFPs) represents a little-explored wealth in the province of Esmeraldas, Ecuador, and is a key aspect in understanding the relationship between the inhabitants and the natural environment. The purpose of this book is to offer a detailed overview of NTFPs, providing essential knowledge about these resources. Through a tour of one hundred plant species found in the forests of this province, a compendium is presented that not only highlights their uses, but also contributes to the cultural, economic and scientific understanding of these products.
