Structural Aspects of the Reforestation Process in Carajás

We are living on a planet condemned to extinction. If effective action is not taken to preserve the environment, the human race could end. But we can’t be extremists and simply want to stop everything. Mineral extraction is very important on the one hand, but on the other it is one of the actions that most degrades our environment. So what can we do? This work shows the actions being taken around the Carajás National Forest in Pará, which is located in Brazil and has one of the largest mineral reserves in the world. Some of the results show that current reforestation techniques are still far from compensating for the damage done, but that they are a ＂light at the end of the tunnel＂, a hope for our future generation. We also mention current conservation laws and reflect on their application in theory and practice. We don’t intend to resolve the situation definitively, but to encourage discussion on the subject.
