As long as democracy in African countries in general, and particularly in Mozambique, is not solid and adapted to the socio-cultural reality, there will still be various challenges and obstacles to development, because the condition for development is freedom and equal rights to opportunities, the distribution of public goods and the existence of basic social conditions. Social justice becomes the bulwark of a robust democracy and the basis for development. However, corruption, partisanship, cabalism, democracy and individualism are the barriers facing newly independent countries today.
