The transition from kindergarten to elementary school is an exciting change in a child’s life. In most cases, the anticipation of finally being a schoolchild and being able to learn outweighs the excitement - but this stage of life also brings with it new challenges. However, these challenges not only have to be overcome by the child themselves, but also by their parents. They too have to develop from kindergarten parents to parents of a schoolchild and find their way in their new role. In addition to the kindergarten, it is therefore primarily the parents who should be cooperatively involved by the school in the transition process from kindergarten to the first school educational institution in order to enable the child to make as smooth a transition as possible and thus ensure a beneficial starting point for the child’s further educational career.
