In recent decades, the natural sciences have had a decisive influence on scientific and technological development, moving from a position based on observation and interpretation of phenomena to active intervention in natural processes in balance with nature. It is clear, then, that society urgently needs current and future generations to form a scientific conception of the world based on a system of values about life, the preservation of nature and human health as important conditions for achieving the sustainability of humanity’s development. In view of this social requirement, secondary education in the Angolan context must guarantee the formation of the student’s sense of belonging and responsibility towards nature, interpreting and using with intelligence, creativity, talent and responsibility this impetuous advance based on the appropriation of essential knowledge of the foundations of contemporary sciences and their application in the productive and technological processes of society and life itself.
