This paper is part of a study on the profile of distance learning chemistry students at the UAB-Grajaú hub. As the first stage of the investigation, an analysis was carried out of the PPCs of the Chemistry degrees in the Distance Education modality - EaD managed by the SisUAB platform, based on which it is possible to understand how the student is expected to complete the course. It is understood that this profile is a way of looking at the course and possibly raising the difficulties faced by the students. This is a quantitative and qualitative study, using a questionnaire applied to 7 students on the distance education Chemistry course at the UAB-Grajau pole - at the Federal University of Maranhão. After collecting the data, it can be seen that the majority of the students are between 30 and 40 years old, 86% live in the urban area, and their maturity shows that the greatest difficulty in the distance learning course is not having internet at home, but they still point to face-to-face meetings as an essential factor, showing that they do not understand the essence of distance education, which is autonomy in learning.
