In cytotoxicity and genotoxicity tests, plant species are used as bioindicators and root growth inhibition is observed. The species used in this research as bioindicators were Allium cepa L. (onion), Lactuca sativa (lettuce) and Pisum sativum (pea). Chromosomal alterations were observed, such as chromatin bridges, isolated chromosomes, the presence of micronuclei and cell death.
