This book aims to discover at least 100 couplets from Thirukkural that embody management thinking, and the meaning of these couplets is connected to modern management thought from ancient times. The entire work’s revealing nature would greatly benefit both practicing managers and students of management studies. Thirukkural, the book of wisdom, that has stood the test of time for over 2000 years and still remains relevant as a guiding force for the mankind is a hallmark of ancient Indian civilization with a rich heritage, tradition and culture. It was written by Saint Thiruvalluvar, who was born near Chennai in 30 BC. Thirukkural has been divided into three major divisions, viz., Virtue, Wealth and Love. There are 1330 verses in it. The verses consist of couplets that have their own meaning, rhythm, and diction. Through his great work, the Tamil saint has had a significant impact on every aspect of human life. The selected topics are explained briefly by contemporary management theories with relevant couplets from Thirukkural that contain Thiruvalluvar’s wisdom.
