To develop a basic knowledge of ecology requires an interdisciplinary approach in civic education, because the topic arises from a wide variety of subject areas. Over the course of time, the author has found a wide range of opportunities for further education in the tertiary and quaternary education sector. Personal points of reference are therefore dealt with in the following chapters of the study.Ecology is understood as knowledge of the relationships of individuals and institutions to the surrounding environment, such as climate change and climate protection, the Alps and Alpine ethics, sustainability, mobility and future viability, learning cultures in continuing education and exemplary economic and environmental ethics.
