Aceclofenac Loaded Nano Carriers: Production & Selection of Excipient

This book chapter explores the formulation, production, and excipient compatibility of nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) for the topical delivery of aceclofenac. It emphasizes the selection and optimization of lipids and surfactants to enhance drug loading, stability, and skin penetration. Special emphasis is placed on the selection of lipid excipients, such as glyceryl monostearate, stearic acid, and oleic acid, and stabilizers like Poloxamer 188 or Tween 80, which significantly influence particle size, zeta potential, drug entrapment, and release kinetics. Various production methods including high-pressure homogenization and ultrasonication are discussed with respect to scalability, reproducibility, and stability.
