The Editing of Information Images on Portuguese Public Television

In this book, after the respective theoretical framework, empirical research is presented on the professionals who edit the information broadcast by Portuguese public television (Rádio e Televisão de Portugal [RTP]) on video. In mainland Portugal, the information broadcast by RTP is usually edited on video by image editors based at RTP-Lisbon and RTP-Porto, and by image reporters assigned to the various regional branches of RTP. It should be noted that this research involved the entire population, i.e. all image editors at RTP-Lisbon and RTP-Porto, as well as all image reporters from RTP’s regional offices.
