Between 1779 and 1923 there were 42 heads of mission in the so-called legation of Spain in Constantinople, most of them plenipotentiary ministers who were in charge for less than three years, who knew the end of the Ottoman Empire, but also the end of the Spanish Empire. This book deals with all of them and with some who, from certain consulates, left testimony of what life was like in cities such as Damascus, Jerusalem or Cairo and the representation of the Kingdom of Spain.
