This linear regression study examined the entrepreneur’s egocentric strategic business network (SBN) and business performance (BP). The study investigated the relationship between SBN and BP and if moderated by human capital (HC) and business environment (BE) among diverse small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the energy service industry in California. The instruments used for the study were the network scale, human capital scale, business environment scale, and business performance scale. The study was important because there has been minimal egocentric network entrepreneur research on SMEs and diverse ethnic, minority, and women-owned enterprises. A simple linear regression model is a prediction test between SBN, the predictor variable, and BP, the outcome variable. In addition, moderated multiple regression analysis with Hayes PROCESS Macro utilized the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS v. 27) to analyze moderator/predictor variables HC and BE and their interaction with SBN and effect on BP. The study included sixty-nine diverse entrepreneurs as a convenience sample.
