Considerations on Some Aspects of ANCIENT INDIAN POLITY

This is not the first occasion on which it has been given to me to speak in this hall of many and hallowed memories, dear to me for over twenty years, since I entered it as a student in search of admission to a university course. It, is however, the first time when i have the pleasure of doing so in the character of the first lecture of the University on a foundation which owes its being to the enlightened munificence and burning zeal for the advancement of India history, science and culture, wh
