Dickenson offers a new look at developments in the design and function of the agora during a period of nearly six centuries, from the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC to the height of the Roman Empire with the Herulian invasion of Greece in 267 AD. He focuses on the Greek mainland--the Roman provinces of Achaia and Macedonia--but also considers the islands of the Aegean.
