Dr Cécile Bosman studied Art History and obtained her doctorate at the University of Leiden, and has worked from 1989 onwards in the cultural sector. As a former curator of the Scheepvaartmuseum (National Maritime Museum) in Amsterdam, she wrote various publications about the visual arts in relation to maritime history.
