The Jungle Book stories are set around the adventurous journey of Mowgli, who lived with a pack of wolves. But after having spent his early childhood with his foster parents, Mowgli finds himself no longer being welcomed in the jungle. The fearsome Sheer Khan, a bengal tiger who bears the scars inflicted on him while he hunted men, promises to eliminate everything which is a threat to him, which includes the man-cub Mowgli. This book portrays animals as having human traits, thereby the animal characters in the book are anthropomorphic. The book deals with mature themes and at the same time appeals to the younger audience with its light hearted setting.
