In short, the book depicts motley shades of life of an ordinary man.
The book makes us understand how unpredictable the life is where nothing is permanent not even our grief. Simultaneously it teaches that the death is surely hard but grieving is process that is mitigated to a large extent if we believe that circumstances are like carpets that need to be kept below, not above and howsoever dark it is, we certainly can switch on the lights.
