""A phoenix is a mythical magical bird that repeatedly catches fire and dies just to be reborn from the ashes. In that way it is eternal but must constantly and brutally destroy old versions of itself to be born anew. Just like the phoenix, in order to grow into a new version of ourselves, we often need to let go of old versions and this process of growth is constant and sometimes quite painful. This collection of poems is about the process of letting go of old beliefs, old customs and old habits in order to grow. It’s about those darker days when it’s a little harder to get up in the morning and the places to find hope when everything seems like it has no meaning. Sometimes resting is a way of fighting too and the choice to wait for the sun to come out on a better day can be the best one we will ever make.""
