But the construction and intervention of these new structures in the landscape is often met with resistance. Power of Landscape examines ＂energy landscapes＂ in Europe and the US (Hoover dam, Arizona and Imperial Valley, California) in the present, past and future, exploring the qualitative and emotional significance of these landscapes for residents and users, and bridging for the first time the gap between the world of renewable energy and the world of spatial design. The core of the book’s research stems from work at the Academy of Architecture Amsterdam and Wageningen University by Sven Stremke, Dirk Oudes and Paolo Picchi; additional experts on energy transition and environmental design reflect on their research.
