Origami has come a long way its bumble beginnings. Once considered primarily as past-time for children, origami enthusiasts today can be found among people of all ages, ethnicity, cultures, religious persuasions, and educational backgrounds, and in virtually all corners of the world.
Origami is today at the threshold of being a fine art in its own right.
During the last 60 years or so, the worldwide popularity of origami owes much to the mathematicians, engineers, artists, etc. who incorporated their professional training into the technical development of origami. This, in turn, gave raise to countless origami pieces being created, from simple works to highly detailed and breathtaking origami pieces.
And more origami books being published than ever before, featuring the unique origami creations of these authors as well as other origami creators.
His-Min Tai has given me the honor of writing this prologue.
This is His-Min’s first origami book, featuring a selection of his origami creations over the past several years. These origami creations are within the abilities of most people who may not much exposure to origami, yet have the attractiveness and charm to justify the attention of the more experienced origami enthusiasts.
This book will give many hours of joy to all, irrespective of your level of prior exposure and experience in origami.
