　　從古至今，西方的藝術、文學、哲學，甚至建築，源頭總可以追溯至希臘羅馬神話故事與聖經，也因此閱讀神話和聖經故事，將能幫助讀者更了解這些藝術的典故與內涵。

　　本書包括希臘神話與聖經故事兩大部分。希臘神話是從奧林帕斯眾神的故事到荷馬史詩，再進入希臘悲劇的世界中。接下來則將讀到在聖經中，上帝是如何創造世界、以色列人回到應許之地的旅程、人與神的對話，以及耶穌的生命歷程。原文以清晰簡潔的英文介紹作注，讀者不僅能享受神話與聖經的古典文學之美，更能藉由文本一窺當時的歷史與人文概況。

　　諾丁漢大學英語研究系博士。目前任教於國立東華大學英美語文學系，專長領域包括文學教學、語言教育、華語文教學等。著有《背起文學行囊—造訪英倫名家》（2003）。

斯定國 Ding Kuo Sze

　　印第安那大學教育研究所博士。目前任教於中國科技大學應用英語系，專長領域包括英語教材與教法、英語教學、電腦輔助語言教學、多媒體設計與教學等。

顧問簡介

Dr. Sanford Freedman
