　　本書的編寫秉承以學習者為中心的教學理念，以旅遊實踐為導向，從旅遊從業者的角度來設計和編寫教學內容，既注重理論知識，又側重知識的應用和可操作性，注重旅遊服務過程的能力培養，體現了「以就業為導向、以能力為本位」的設計理念。 本書具有以下三個特色:

　　第一，將會展英語納入旅遊服務英語，進一步拓展了旅遊的廣度和深度，第二，注重中國社會與文化的介紹，有助於提高旅遊從業者的文化素質，第三，將景區英語以對話的形式進行，抓住景區的重點進行介紹，可以起到舉一反三的示範作用，具有很強的可操作性。

　　本書以板塊設計為主，共分為五個部分，共２６ 個單元: 第一部分為導遊英語，第二部分為酒店英語，第三部分為會展英語，第四部分為景區英語，第五部分為中國社會與文化。

　　每一單元由四個模塊組成:

　　(１) 介紹(Section 1 Introduction)。介紹本單元主要內容，瞭解工作流程，並在此基礎上提出問題進行討論，明確其任務、職責和要求。

　　(2) 對話(Section 2 Dialogues)。 對話情景的選擇貼近和涵蓋旅遊服務工作的實際，具有針對性和實用性，詞彙學習( Words and Phrases) 將兩個板塊中的生詞的發音、詞義以及短語加以註釋，便於學生查閱學習，實用句型(Useful Ex￣pressions) 總結有助於拓展鞏固常用句型和表達方法，便於學生模仿學習。

　　(3) 練習(Section 3 Exercises)。 根據每課的教學內容，精心設計多樣練習類型。 情景對話填空進一步拓寬了學習內容，尤其是情景對話操練中Tips 的設定

　　是本書的一大特色，它提供了相關場景和詞彙，可組織學生進行真實場景模擬練習，更豐富、更全面地呈現各場景學習，漢譯英、英譯漢、表格填寫以及寫作訓練都有助於學生英語應用能力的提高。

　　(4) 拓展閱讀(Section 4 Extensive Reading)。 與主題有關的拓展閱讀包括文化、習俗、禮儀介紹，將極大地提高學生的個人素質。

　　本書由多年從事旅遊英語教學的一線教師參與編寫。 教材選材新穎、點面結合、內容豐富、圖文並茂、語言規範、實用性強，練習兼具實用性和針對性。 它以應用為目的、夠用為尺度，擺脫了一般教科書場景設置單一的缺點，更接近生活實際，具有真實性、生動性和趣味性。 教材注重培養學生的獨立思考能力和創造力，體現「在學中用，在用中學，學以致用」的學習理念。 本書可作為高等職業學院、高等專科學校、成人高等院校、本科院校旅遊英語專業及旅遊管理專業學生的學習用書，也可作為旅遊企業服務與管理從業人員的培訓教材。
