The Come Up

The police caught Ramon Ra-Ra Holmes in his stash house. While in the country jail he believes he was set up by his long time friend Sean. When Sean or no one else jumps to pay Ra-Ra’s bail, unbeknownst to Ra-Ra his girlfriend has put into motion plans to get her man out of prison even at the risk of her own life.
Six months later, Ra-Ra is released back on to the mean streets of Newark, NJ., where he vowed to make everybody pay for leaving him in prison. Ra-Ra puts together an unlikely team of robbers. His little brother BS, his girlfriend LS and his son’s mother Nikki proceed through the streets of Brick City with one thing in their minds that’s whose going to be their next Come Up. Loyalty and Love are pushed beyond the call of duty, because Ra-Ra and his team find out that coming up comes with a deadly price and Ra-Ra is willing to pay every ounce of it or is it?

Al-Tariq grew up in the same mean streets that plastered throughout these pages. He has pushed the boundaries of street gangster to its brink. This is his first published novel but do not fret Al-Tariq has more up on his sleeve. When finding out he had a talent that would keep him off the streets, he began to use the hunger he once had for the streets to writing his books.
