The Good Young Days is part of the youth development Kenroy Stories bibliotherapy resource books series. As he gets dressed to attend his primary school (8th grade in the British system) graduation, Kenroy pause over his school photo reflecting on a number of episodes from the 'good young days' gone by. His reminiscences touch on incidents, some painful to recall, in which he has had to deal with issues such as how to treat others, peer pressure, the meaning of success, youth drug abuse, and others. We see him developing a precocious tendency to think his way through life rather than be controlled by his adolescent feelings. A nascent search for meaning in life can also be discerned in his conscience driven thoughts. Strengthening these tendencies will be key if he is to grow into a responsible adult. These resource books have been carefully designed as tools for use by those involved as parents, teachers, counselors, librarians, etc., in fostering positive youth development along the lines of these vital factors.
