The nonprofit sector plays an important role in our country’s economic landscape, contributing to 5% of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the United States (NCCS, 2020). Nonprofit organizations are often seen as a bridge, operating in collaboration with both the private sector and government entities (Shier & Handy, 2020).
