This book is the result of the author’s teaching experience and it is conceived primarily as a learning resource for students. Accordingly, it aims at explaining ethical issues as clearly and simply as possible without distorting them. The book can be understood by general readers who have no previous formal knowledge of philosophy or ethics. As the book is only an introduction to ethics, it does not try to cover all possible issues. It rather concentrates on basic questions of ethical theory and some selected topics. Above all, it tries to show that sound moral norms are not arbitrary. The topics covered include among others: moral relativism, the main ethical theories, human fulfillment, communication, justice, property, abortion and euthanasia.
