Prof. Dr. Lili Hu is research professor of Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). She got her Ph.D degree in inorganic materials from SIOM, CAS in 1990. She has been devoted to research of luminescent and laser materials for more than 30 years, mainly on optical and spectroscopic properties as well as manufacture key technologies of rare earth ion doped glasses and laser fibers. She and her cooperators had published more than 300 scientific papers and won more than 40 issued patents. She had published 2 book "Laser Glass and Its Application" (in Chinese) in 2019, "Rare Earth Doped Silica Fiber and Its Applications" (in Chinese) in 2023, and contributed one chapter in a book entitled "Photonic Glasses and Their Applications" (in Chinese) in 2011. She won the Grand Prize of Technology Invention Award of Shanghai in 2016, the Second Class National Technology Invention Award in 2017, the Outstanding Scientific and Technological Achievements Award of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2022, the First Class Technological Invention Award of Shanghai in 2022. Due to her outstanding lifetime contributions to glass science and technology, she was granted 2024 N. F. Mott award and 2025 ICG (International Commission on Glass) President Award.
