基於熱愛海洋、瞭解原鄉、深耕經營海巡工作，編輯「海洋與原鄉歷史童書」乙書，本局徵詢花東地區各項原住民史料，透過原住民紀事傳達先民抵禦外侮史蹟，結合政府海洋政策響應宣達全民國防意識，進而支持海岸巡防工作與協力打擊海岸（域）犯罪。
We are very pleased that a book about marine and aboriginal history for kids has been published. This book was edited according to a lot of aboriginal and local documents, the history about our ancestors defended Japanese from attack, and the narrate recorded by the elders who participated in these historical events happened in Taitung and Hualien area. Finally, we would like to combine the government’s marine policy and consciousness of national defense to promote the marine mission and avoid the illegal immigrant, weapons smuggling and drugs.
