常用片語
1. heavy weather
heavy weather這個片語出自200年前，當時的水手會行駛帆船在海上航行。當時水手常用這個片語指狂風暴雨、雷電交加的險惡天氣。現在，人們開始借用heavy weather來指種種難以應付的障礙和困難。
例句：I am afraid Susan will run into heavy weather when she has to learn biology next year.
我擔心蘇珊明年學生物學的時候會覺得困難重重。
2. hit the books
hit這個字平常的意思為「打擊」，但也有其他的意思。在大學裡，有的學生平時不用功，考試前必須藉由臨時抱佛腳、狂K書，才能通過考試。hit the books的意思是「用功讀書」。
