臺南歷史地圖散步(英文版)

中央研究院－數位文化中心於今年1月發行《臺南歷史地圖散步》，為國內第一本搭配行動APP的臺南導覽書。為饗讀者，今進一步發行英文版Walking into Tainan’s Past and Present，讓國際間得以更深入了解臺南府城的時代變遷。

本書特邀23位南瀛學研究者，以通俗易懂的筆觸，娓娓道出大臺南區域數百年來的地理水文變化、歷史人文脈絡及美食娛樂生活。當中包含不少坊間少見的厚實題材，如日治時期都市計畫下以圓環取代城牆的城市變貌、府城製糖與曬鹽歲月、西拉雅族文化信仰及正名運動之路、新町遊廓暗藏的藝妲風華與淚水等，超越舊城範圍，完整呈現臺南身世與不同面貌。

其中，更精選13幀橫跨清朝到戰後的珍貴古地圖、246張臺南老照片，加上「臺南歷史地圖」APP的今日Google地圖與街景影像，古今交映，使用者在指尖滑動間，即可探索臺南流金歲月。

This is the first travel guidebook about Tainan equipped with a mobile application, hosting 23 essays brilliantly written by experts of Tainan studies. Their account brings forward the evolution of the geographical contours, history, and material culture of Tainan over a century, illustrated by 13 historic maps from the Qing dynasty to the post-war era, 246 vintage photographs, and a then-and-now display of Google street view on the APP. This book unfolds Tainan’s cultural fabrics resplendent in glows from the past and present.
