In Leko’s world, rivers don’t behave.
They rise.
They climb toward mountains and clouds like something inside the water has woken up and decided the sky is a door. Along the banks, people whisper the same warning in different languages: the rivers are bargaining, and every bargain comes with a cost.
Leko has learned that cost firsthand.
A stranger with forbidden knowledge has been moving through the valley, teaching one brutal rule: speak the right names, and the current will answer. Speak the wrong ones, and the water will take more than it gives back. Five names have already been fed into the teeth of the rising river. Five forces have stirred. And the land is changing in ways no kingdom is prepared to survive.
Now the unrest spreads beyond the valley. Villages arm themselves. Cities deny the signs until their wells start behaving like staircases. Kingdoms send hunters to silence rumors, capture witnesses, and bring the "problem" back in chains.
Then the stranger returns with the worst truth yet:
Two bargains remain.
And the sixth is the one no one survives unchanged.
Leko must decide whether to keep running from the river’s attention or step into it and become what the world needs, because this time the current isn’t asking for blood.
It’s asking for what you protect when blood means nothing.
Rivers That Refuse to Flow: The Sixth Bargain is a mythic epic fantasy of rebellion, ancient forces, and a world where nature negotiates and the price is never written down.
