Accessing Your Overflow 2; 21 Days of Fasting and Praying: A Prayer and Fasting Guide

Every year in January, many Christians prepare themselves for the New Year with a 21 day fast and 30 days of consecration. All business at the church ceases and the members are encouraged to pray for their own personal needs as well as the needs of the body of the church.

This can be an uneasy time for new believers as well as seasoned Christians who do not quite understand the role of fasting and daily prayer in their lives. This guide for this period of fasting and consecration is based upon the Old Testament book of Daniel. Daniel was known throughout the king’s court for his gift of dream interpretation and it was during a 3 week period of fasting and mourning that he had one of his greatest visions.

This book is meant as a guide to assist in your journey and to help focus your thoughts, get you closer to God through prayer and sacrifice and to explore the various emotions that can surface during this time of purification. It includes daily prayers and journal pages that allow for prayer, self reflection, goal setting and a review of your progress. Upon completion of the 21st day, we pray that you will be ready to embrace the vision that God has for your life.
