Tat Splat in Gotham

It is 1944 in New York City, and the New York Police Department’s Fifth Precinct Homicide Division is facing the daunting task of catching a serial murderer targeting Navy personnel. Detective Fred Witherspoon, a middle-aged cop overwhelmed with other cases and few clues, forges ahead while battling the city’s bureaucracy. Elsewhere in the city, Angelique Allard, a French immigrant who escape the Nazis eight years earlier, joins the OSS in hopes of returning to her native country and assisting the resistance movement. Otis Sito, a young orphan working at the Times Square automat, is battling his own life issues including surviving an accusation that he murdered the maid of a woman whom he is having an affair with. This book has a gripping storyline and well-developed characters.
