The Battle of Mabel and Mammon

＂You question the use of magic? What magic do you refer to? Surely the magic is this?＂ Mabel held her hands inward, pointing at her chest, indicating the girl that stood on the podium. ＂Is the magic the age and gender of the person you see before you? The breadth of her nose? Her preference for green trees before steel girders? Or is it the ancient weapon she walks with? The traditional fighting tool of men, that brings fear to your hearts and minds in the hands of a woman.＂

Greed has brought planet earth to the brink of climate change disaster and the selfishness that led individuals to cause an ecological catastrophe in life, lives on in death. It is left to a group of teenage friends and a collection of ghostly allies from the biosphere’s past to prevent the end of peace in the World and the Otherworld. Led by Mabel, an African immigrant from Yorkshire and now protégé to enchantresses and wizards, the fight for all that is green on earth leads to a battle in the bowels of the Netherworld with Mammon himself. Who will be victorious? The mythical beast or the magical schoolgirl?
