LAST SEEN is a folk-cosmic horror novel set between a modern city and an isolated coastal village bound to an ancient god.

In Driftwood Bay, belief is not symbolic. It is practiced. Every ten years, a sacred tree bears a single fruit. The one who consumes it becomes a vessel-or dies proving they were unworthy. The village has survived for centuries by accepting this bargain.

Markus was born into this system. As a child, he witnessed the ritual’s failure and learned what the elders would not admit: the god’s power is real, but not uncontrollable. Over the years, Markus studies the rites, the failures, and the creatures left behind. Faith becomes method. Ritual becomes engineering.

In the city, Amanda lives by a different order. She is precise, disciplined, and defined by achievement. Having raised her younger sister Janet after their parents’ death, Amanda believes control is the only defense against chaos. Success is how she keeps the world intact.

When Janet leaves with Markus for Driftwood Bay, she believes she is escaping the city. She does not know she is entering a cycle that predates history-or that her body is being measured against an ancient requirement.

As preparations begin beneath the village church, past and present converge. The elders wait. The god listens. And Markus prepares to complete what generations before him could not: a vessel that endures.

LAST SEEN explores inherited belief, ritualized violence, and the human need to impose structure on forces that should not be touched. The horror is not only what emerges from the ritual, but the calm certainty with which it is justified.
