Not just my friends or family - but anyone.
The person beside me on the bus, the woman in front of me at the supermarket, the man waiting at the coffee counter.
Over the years, I’ve realised that real conversation - the kind that makes two strangers smile - doesn’t come from rehearsed lines or forced charm.
It comes from noticing.
Noticing someone’s shoes and imagining where they’ve been.
Noticing the sound of their accent or the colour of their bag.
Noticing what’s in their basket, the book they’re reading, the weather outside.
Those small observations become bridges.
And when you take a step across - with kindness and curiosity - people open up.
But lately, I’ve noticed something else:
People have forgotten how to chat.
We’re so busy, so cautious, so distracted, that we’ve lost the simple art of talking to each other.
We walk through cities full of people and feel lonely.
We stand in queues surrounded by stories and stay silent.
We’ve built a world where connection is possible everywhere - except, somehow, in real life.
I wrote this book as a reminder - to myself and to anyone who’s felt that quiet distance - that conversation is still one of the most beautiful things we can share.
It’s not about being clever or confident.
It’s about being curious.
It’s about saying, ＂I see you.＂
Because when we truly see people, something shifts.
The world softens.
We remember we belong to each other.
And that’s worth protecting.
