Artemio’s Gift

After a long day helping Daddy with yard work, Viola, a young girl, goes to bed, and Daddy reads her favorite book about dinosaurs. During her sleep, she has a wonderful dream about traveling to the lost land of the dinosaurs with three Great Horned Owls. She marvels at the forests, mountains, rivers, and the many different dinosaurs as she flies on the back of a pteranodon. Left alone in a deep cave, Viola meets a giant sabertooth cat, Artemio. He challenges Viola with deadly force, but Viola meets the challenge, and Artemio awards her a golden pendant. The story emphasizes the importance of courage, faith, and living a good life.
