AN INTRODUCTION TO THE GEOLOGY OF TAIWAN臺灣地質說

Geology is but one aspect of the natural background of a region. A regional geologic map offers the reader an understand of its living environment and its natural resources, and can be used as reference base for the betterment of environment and the development of resources. The relatively recent geologic map that embraces the whole province of Taiwan is the “Geologic of Taiwan” on the scale of 1 to 300,000 published by the Geologic Survey of Taiwan in 1953. the advancement of geological endeavor in the last two decades or more has naturally made it necessary to have a new edition of geologic map to take the place of the old. This is the motive for the Ministry of Economic Affairs to publish a new “geologic Map of Taiwan”.
