Mohammad Yazdi is Senior Researcher and Tutor at the School of Engineering at Macquarie University, Australia and Lecturer at the School of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences at the University of West Scotland, United Kingdom. He holds a BSc in Safety and Technical Protection Engineering from the Petroleum University of Technology in Abadan, Iran, an MSc in Industrial Engineering from the Eastern Mediterranean University in Famagusta, Cyprus, and a dual Ph.D. partnering with the Centre for Risk, Integrity, and Safety Engineering (C-RISE) at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, and Macquarie University in Australia. Prior to his academic career and 2012 to 2016, Dr Yazdi worked in various roles including as a Firefighter, Safety Officer, WHS/OHS Advisor, and Auditor, serving vital sectors including power plants, and the oil and gas industry. His research interests include system safety, risk assessment, resilience, process integrity, and asset management, especially concerning renewable and non-renewable energy infrastructure.
