The construction industry is characterised by its high turnover rate. This may be due to the adverse working conditions and the lack of professional qualifications. In addition, employees have no stability in the company, where they are employed during the construction period and then dismissed. The sector has poorly qualified labourers compared to other sectors, which means that low productivity results in products with lower quality than desired. The aim of this work is to develop an effective training methodology to prevent/decrease accidents at work in the construction industry in the greater São Benedito area, in the municipality of Santa Luzia/MG. In order to obtain the data, questionnaires were drawn up and submitted to site managers and workers, in which they answered questions relating to their social profiles, site organisation, training and the availability of individual and collective protection equipment.
