I never expected that a break-up would lead me to discovering who I really am, but when my relationship with Tola ended, everything changed. I was left heartbroken, confused, and unsure of what to do with my life. Yet, I soon realized that the end of my relationship was the start of a personal transformation. I took a chance on something I had always loved but never fully embraced-art. I joined an art class to fill the void and slowly began to explore my creative side.
I wasn’t looking for validation from anyone else. I just wanted to create for myself. I poured my emotions, my struggles, and my dreams into each canvas, and what started as a simple distraction turned into a profound personal journey. I started to paint with intention and purpose, which helped me find peace amid the turmoil.
I also found an unexpected pillar of support in Ada, my best friend, who had always been there for me during the toughest times. She cheered me on as I slowly rebuilt my life from the inside out. I never thought I would have the courage to share my artwork with the world, but one day, I was invited to showcase my pieces at a local gallery. It was a terrifying but exhilarating experience to see people admiring what I had created. For the first time in a long while, I felt proud of myself-not for anyone else’s approval, but because I knew I had created something that was truly mine. The event gave me the confidence I needed to pursue art more seriously, and I began to exhibit my work more frequently.
