La Hoya del Río Suárez is a region located between the departments of Boyacá and Santander where sugarcane has been grown for more than 100 years and one of its main productive activities is the production of panela. The people who work there do not have a formal labor relationship; they are paid by the day and do not have social security to guarantee their well-being and that of their families; the process is deficient in terms of training and technology. The start-up of Mieles SAS marks the beginning of a process of business formalization in terms of labor relations and technical support in a largely informal region. Generating a technical, economic, administrative and socio-cultural impact on the organization’s stakeholders.Through a transversal descriptive research it was possible to show that the start-up of Mieles S.A.S. has broken paradigms in the region, with the promotion of female labor, the arrival of qualified personnel, generating employment that complies with the provisions of the law.
