El día que Joana cumple 4 años, su abuelo le regala algo muy especial: ¡una semilla! El abuelo le asegura que, algún día, esa semilla tan pequeñita se convertirá en un árbol grande y frondoso, pero a Joana le parece imposible... ¿Cómo puede salir algo tan grande de una semilla tan minúscula?.

Decididos a comprobarlo, el abuelo y Joana plantan la semilla en el jardín. Un año después, cuando la primavera llega de nuevo, Joana observa, entristecida, que su árbol aún no ha brotado. Pero al volver de las vacaciones de verano, ¡las primeras hojas del árbol empiezan germinar! Los días van pasando y el árbol se hace cada vez más y más grande, hasta que Joana descubre que su preciado árbol es... ¡un manzano!

The day Joana turns four years old, her grandfather gives her a very special gift: a seed! Grandpa assures her that someday, that little seed will become a huge, leafy tree, but that seems impossible to Joana. How can something so big come out of such a tiny seed?.

Determined to prove it, Grandpa and Joana plant the seed in the garden. One year later, when spring comes around again, Joana observes sadly that her seed has not yet sprouted. But when she returns from summer vacation, the first leaves have started to appear! The days pass and the tree gets taller and taller, until Joana discovers that her beloved tree is… an apple tree!.
