What would you do if you were young, inexperienced, troubled by a complicated life, and someone close to you threatened you? This is exactly what Annie faces in this short story, coming out to her homophobic family at the age of fourteen. Her sister Christine, a devout Christian, takes on a malevolent hatred for Annie, warning her that God will subject her to all kinds of punishments until she repents and no longer is a practicing homosexual. Annie is severely traumatized by what occurs, and suffers from the effects to this day. The story is told primarily in narrative as it was related to the author, with sparse dialogue, making for a fast-paced story. 18+, ~3,000 words.
